The radios must first all operate within the same fundamental frequency range. Both the UHF band (400-470 MHz) and the VHF band are used by the majority of “commercial” and “consumer” walkie-talkies (136 – 174 MHz). A VHF radio and a UHF radio cannot be made to “speak” to one another.
