What is the difference between GNSS and GPS?

One global navigation satellite system is the GPS (or Global Positioning System). Based on the idea of trilateration, GNSS employs satellite constellations. This means that by measuring the distance to four or more satellites, GNSS receivers may precisely identify their location.
