Base radios, mobile radios, and handheld radios are two-way radios used for emergency response. Base radios are permanent, stationary radios typically attached to a car or other fixed area. Mobile radios are mounted inside a vehicle and may be used while driving. Portable radios that a person may carry are called handheld radios.
